Simply Fetching! Pet Fur-tographer
When I was a dog foster mom years ago, I was always trying to get that perfect profile shot for my foster dogs, You know, the shot that would make the right person instantly fall in love. That mission evolved into a passion and talent for pet photography.
In 2013 I began volunteering my time at the Sarnia Humane Society as well as the rescue I was fostering for to capture adoptable photos for their websites. These sometimes challenging sessions were a great training ground working with so many individual personalities and adapting to bringing out the best in each. To this day, giving back to these organizations and animals is an ongoing heart project. I love volunteering my time to capture profile photos for adoptable animals and playing a tiny role in helping those souls find their forever home. Donating is also an important piece of giving back. Several times per year, for almost 10 years running, I hold Holiday photo events at local pet related businesses with a portion of the proceeds going to local animal related organizations.
My other driving force is the joy of providing images of client's amazing pets that they will treasure for years to come. Having lost my golden before discovering this talent, I regret not having many photos to remember him. Sadly, I have zero high quality photos that truly capture his personality and tell his story. It means the absolute world to me when I can provide photos like this to other pet parents knowing that even years after their pets are gone, the images can always spark a fond memory and all of the love.
I am constantly learning, studying and practicing this craft. My early background in art as well as a life-long love of animals combine to give me the ability to provide beautiful, lasting memories of your most special family members.
I am a strong believer in making a session fun and enjoyable for the animals and I know that shows in the final product. Extra time is always given for the shy or timid pet to give them a chance to be comfortable and develop trust. It gives me a lot of joy to bring out your pet's special personality in the lasting memory of an image.

Meet my girl.
Dorothy was my 30th and final foster dog who became my 2nd "foster fail". She was a fearful 5 month old puppy when she arrived in February of 2014 and didn't get the best start in life. While still a fearful mess with any new things, her list of things that are no longer so scary has grown a ton. Gaining the level of trust from her that is needed to navigate the strange and new was the most challenging but rewarding relationship that I have had with any dog. Having lost my other two girls and star models - A'ja in 2020 and Kiki in 2023 - Dorothy is stepping up to the role whenever I ask, provided the treat pouch is filled with her favourites. It has been the best reinforcement of the skills I've developed with the shy ones who need that slow approach.
